Croeffelbach is located in the nature reserve "Buehlertal". The green hillside goes up to the
the nice "Hohenloher Ebene" and the city of Schwaebisch Hall with its well known museums
and the "Freilichtspiel" theater.
Der Buehlertal hiking and cycling trail passes our hotel directly by. Only a few minutes away
is the hiking and cycling Kocher-Jagst-Trail.

The nature reserve Buehlertal not only invites to a holiday stay with many
Leisure facilities, but is also ideal for organizing conferences and seminars.
Our hotel is just 4 km away from the Autobahn A6 which allows an easy getting there.
Our in was probably mentioned as "Schenke im oberen Dorf" the first time in the year 1085 when the monastery Comburg was founded
The "Ochsen" was getting importance as inn, since the location was at the old
trade route from Stuttgart via Nuremberg to Praha. In the mid age the owner was offering
support with oxes for the heavy salt coaches.
Event the horse based postal service from Thurn und Taxis was in the "Ochsen" with a post station and an horse exchange stable.
In the year 1803 the first big expansion was made by our family which owns the place since ever.
1985 the monument protected timber building was totally reconstructed.
In 1994 the 3-Star Conference hotel was built and all rooms in the timber building were reconstructed and the "Ochsen" was expanded to the actual size.
In May 2016 we had a flooding disaster in Croeffelbach and the basement level and the ground level were flooded with water.
The reconstruction was finished in April 2017.
